Live radio recording : Days Of Being Wild

NEWCOMER 2017 – Follow-up by la BAM- Les Trinitaires / MAEL – France

Days Of Being Wild is a powerful electronic live act, a deadly dance music machine imagined by the two brains behind the eponymous label. Samuel meets Franz in 2013, when Days Of Being Wild releases “La Mort Du Petit Cheval”, the first 12” of his project Club Bizarre. Sam’s energy, enthusiasm and love of electronic music impress Franz so much that he asks him to join him at the head of the label. They started jamming and developed a spontaneous and raw live show, producing and playing tracks destined for the live area. Sharing a passion for analog synthesizers, old and new, the pair has decided to come back to a more pragmatic and fun way of making electronic music by putting the computer aside, and firing up hardware sequencers and drum machines. The perfect way for them to give life to the punk / DIY ethos they coin twisted disco noir.

Man of many aliases and projects; label manager, geek and underground music activist, Franz first got noticed when legendary DJ Laurent Garnier fell in love with his music and started playlisting his first releases. Founding member of the label ‘Days Of Being Wild’, he has constantly reinvented himself through his various releases and projects, whether exploring the relationship between postclassical music, film soundtrack and avant garde electronica with Piano Interrupted, revisiting early 80’s new wave and balearic disco with Hotel International or eschewing fragile, broken electronic vignettes on his own Franz Kirmann albums.
